    Printing Filled Views Only

    Hi

I have six views within one form and we would like to print out all the forms that have been filled leaving the remaining unfilled forms out of the print job. Within most forms we have expandable text boxes and would like to have our printed forms to be nice and neat, if you know what i mean, within nice sections. Some of the views may become quite long.

Is there a way round the above tasks?

Any help would be much appreciated,

    Ali.

    Hi Ali,

Printing in InfoPath is not going to be neat. Sorry, but that's the truth. InfoPath 2007 is better, but still there are problems. It's not like Word.

I'm not sure what you are asking - are you asking to do batch processing of the forms and print them all out? Or, are you asking to print out each of 6 views for the same data? Please give me some more details. Thanks!

Directly it is not possible but you can create the print view of all fields and conditionally hide the fields which are not filled

    Re: Printing Filled Views Only

    Thanks Patrick & Mahitha

I work at college and I am part of the Learning Materials Development Unit. We will be using this form for project specifications between the three of us as well as lecturing staff view our submitted forms on Sharepoint.

For example we use certain software such as Course Genie, Hot Potatoes, Flash and Moodle (VLE). The first form is the outline of the project which is compulsory then the remaining forms are the mentioned software packages. There will be certain times we will only require one piece of software for a project, therefore the outline will be required to be printed along with the single software view form. Other times it will be the opposite where we require using all pieces of software for the project and requiring the filled out forms to be printed appropriately.

As mentioned previously these forms will reside within our Sharepoint site for all three of us to view as well as teaching staff (these will be read-only) to remind them what has been agreed within the project.

Sorry for the long story but I thought I would try and give you a better picture. Basically we like to have all the views filled within our form to be printed and the remaining unfilled view left out of the print job. I think Mahitha could have the best solution for us and I will try this.

Once again thank you very much and sorry for the winding story.
    Ali.

    Re: Printing Filled Views Only

    First thing
What do you mean by six views? Do you have six different pages for each view or do you have six different sections in the same Page.

To print only those sections that are filled out, create an entirely new view which will show only those sections that are filled out. Basically add conditional visibility to those sections.
Now set this view as the print view for the main view.
