Email Data Connections and Apostrophe's in email addresses

    Hi

I seem to be experiencing an issue with my Infopath form and Email Data connection.

I use the Active Directory web service to populate fields regarding the current user this includes that persons email address, ..this field is then utilised  to send a copies of the completed form to the user later in the work-flow utilisng rules and Email Data Connections.   This has been working fine with no issues at all for a number of years, but then around 2 months ago if a persons email address contained an apostrophe  (e.g. Peter.O'Brien@blahblah.co.uk) , when it comes to the rules envoking the dataconnection to send an email, an infopath error occurs stating  :-

    "InfoPath cannot submit the form.
    The parameter is incorrect."

If i modify the persons email address field and change it to one without an apostrophe no error is displayed and the form brings up the Email page.

I am at a loss as to expain why this has started happening all of a sudden,... i have not made any updates to either Infopath as a product or to the form in regards to these fields.

Any insight would be much appreciated

Interesting - I just had this error as well, but it was because the 'form filename' was also a calculated field for the data connection and my formula used a 'datetimestamp' field - when i took that field out of the formula, no more error. I wonder - are you using the email address as part of the form attachment filename in the dataconnection as well? Try just testing with plain form.xml as the filename and see if the error goes away. Then you know if it is the 'email address field' causing the problem, or the form attachment field. Finally, try sticking a ";" at the end of your 'to' field (e.g. concatenate(my:field1,";") ) Or see if apostrophe is one of those 'xml incompatible' characters where you need a special code replacement, like &apostrophe; or something.
