    How to hide controls for new data but show for existing data

    Hello

    I currently modifying our existing infopath formulaire (2007). We have a couple of fields that must be hidden (because they are no longer needed).

    How will I hide this field for new data (when users use this new version) but show it for existing data (if a value of this field is selected)?

    I am using conditional formatting to hide the controls (ie.put controls in a section, then hide section). But I am just trying to get my head around the logic of showing the field for the existing data but not show it for new data (ie.once the new version is released)

    Thank you in advance for your assistance

    regards

     Can you just hide the control if it is blank in your updated form? Will that work? You can also get the form's version via an expression like this:

    substring-before(substring-after(/processing-instruction()[local-name(.) = "mso-infoPathSolution"], 'solutionVersion="'), '"')

    Perhaps hide the control based on the version number?
