    Default values and calculation limit error

    I have a form template that throws a "number of calculations for a single action exceeded the maximum limit" error while opening. The error must be invoked using a particular set of sample data which will be attached. I narrowed the problem down to the following node/field through trial and error and also by removing nodes from the underlying XML until the error ceased:

    /my:myFields/my:MasterSection/my:SPIF_Hider/my:SPIF_Info_Repeater_Group/my:SPIF_Info_Repeater/my:SPIF_Data/my:SPIF_Chargeable_Object_Number

    The default value for this field is as follows:

    //my:SPIF_Info_Repeater[1 = count(following-sibling::my:SPIF_Info_Repeater)]//my:SPIF_Chargeable_Object_Number[text()] | //my:Chargeable_Object_Number[text() and not(//my:SPIF_Info_Repeater[1 = count(following-sibling::my:SPIF_Info_Repeater)]//my:SPIF_Chargeable_Object_Number[text()])]

    The intended behavior is as follows:

    • If the preceding "SPIF_Chargeable_Object_Number" is blank, defer to the "Chargeable_Object_Number" in the non-repeating section of the form
    • If the preceding "SPIF_Chargeable_Object_Number" is not blank, use it in the field as the default value

    I believe that something is wrong with my XPath statment, but I don't quite know enough to correct it. I have attached the form template to this post, I will attach the sample data for preview with the form in the next post.

    The attached XML file can be used by going to "File>Form Options>Preview" and browsing to it. This file is very minimal and contains only the information needed to invoke the error.
