a button to add a line to a table

i am new to infopath and spent all weekend searching this forum. I have learned a lot of new stuff but not what i want to do. Basically i want a table with three columns and at the bottom three drop down list boxes and button. I can create and format that without any problems. I have even linked my list boxes so based on the first list box my second and third show only the values related to the first. Now the part i cannot figure out and couldnt find any example forms of is....

Once the user makes the selections from the three list boxes i want them to click the button and the values are inserted into the table. Then they can select three more values and click the button and this is added to the next line of the table.

is this possible? can someone provide a little guidance?

the purpose of my form is an equipment request form. I am currently using a repeating table and they can add a new rows manually. I think my above idea would clean up the design and look more professional.

Hi InfoPathProblems and welcome to our forum!
Have you looked at the Asset Tracker solution in InfoPath 2003? This shows how to use a button to access details for a table. A little different than what you want, but a good reference since several of the concepts are similar and you should be able to reuse them. Unfortunately, you can't insert values into a repeating table programmatically without manually editing the view's XSL (to add an xd:action="xCollection::insert") so you will have to write some code to do this. Let us know if you have more questions after studying the code in the Asset Tracker sample. Good luck!
