    Active Directory not working

    My active directory install has been working for a several years but all of a sudden I am getting this error

    The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: FindUsersByName
    InfoPath cannot run the specified query.
    The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:

    System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> System.ApplicationException: You have not installed a license to use the ADUserInfo service.
       at Qdabra.Dbxl.WebService.AdUserInfo.CheckLicense()
       at Qdabra.Dbxl.WebService.AdUserInfo.FindUsersByName(String name, SearchType searchType)
       --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

     I have uninstalled and reinstalled my AD service on the sharepoint server, but don't see where there needs to be a license.  please advise.

     Hi - are you able to access the web service page via your browser? http://servername/qdabrawebservice/default.htm is the default (with your server name in place of servername, of course). If so, toward the bottom of the page, you should see a link for the DBXL License service. Click that link, then the link to the GetLicenseInfo2 method. Do this all on your server so that you'll have an Invoke button on the method page. Click Invoke, and paste the XML in a reply.

    Re: Active Directory not working

    Here is the information

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>

      <DBXLLicenses xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xsi:nil="true" xmlns="http://qdabra.com/webservices/" />

    However, I do not have DBXL.  I have the active directory web service.  I’m not sure they are the same thing.

    I do understand that you have ADWS. I was just wondering if there was a license installed at all. I had thought one was required for ADWS as well. I'll ask Jim to chime in here.

    Re: Active Directory not working

    It does appear you have the DBXL version of the Active Directory service.  The virtual directory for the standalone ADWS will have just AdUserInfo.asmx.  DBXL will list about 16 asmx files in the folder.

    The standalone does not require adding a license, but the DBXL version does.

    Open the event viewer and look for the Qdabra eventlog under "Applications and Services logs".  It should log expired licenses during startup.

    Re: Active Directory not working

    I do not see anything for DBXL in the application and services.  I have had the ADWS for years, but did try the DBXL a couple years ago on a trial and found I didn't need to use it.  I need to get this fixed as all my forms are erroring out when using the ADWS data connection in the form.  How can I fix this?

    Please contact us via support at qdabra dot com and we'll help you resolve this. Since there's a licensing question, it's best to resolve outside of the forum. Thank you.
