    InfoPath cannot submit the form

Here is the error message I am receiving:

InfoPath cannot submit the form. Some rules were not applied.InfoPath cannot submit the form.

The form was not submitted because a form named 110.xml already exists in the document library at http://qualitysystem/events/Quality Incidence Rpt . Please contact the provider of the form.

I'm not sure how this all started but when you hit submit on a form it automatically creates the next number for you. For some reason it got stuck and now when you hit submit it tries creating the same number over and over again and there is no way to correct it. Help! Thanks, Quinton

Could you describe to us your approach to determining the id number, or attach your form here in this thread?

Re: InfoPath cannot submit the form

Hi, I have the exact same problem. Here's the details thanks

     Problem
I have a form library that I built using an InfoPath form (2007). It has the following data connections for submitting a form.

    Name: Main Submit
    Type: Submit Data
    File Name (experssion): max(@ID) + 1
Allow overwrite if form exists: no

    Name: RetrieveIDs
    Type: Retrieve Data
Data Source type: Secondary data connection

If the form is saved before the submit button is clicked (which disappears after the first submit), I recieve this error

    "InfoPath cannot submit the form.
    Some rules were not applied.
    InfoPath cannot submit the form.
The form was not submitted because a form named 509.xml already exists in the document library at http://qualitysystem/events/Change Request. Please contact the provider of the form"

Yet I'm telling it to fetch the id and add one??, thanks again for any insight.

So are you saying that this issue only occurs if the form is saved? In that situation is it correctly saved with the first available ID or is something going wrong? It seems like in any case you need to remove the restriction to prevent overwriting documents, because that is preventing you from submitting.
