    Form with code and UDCX Data Connection using Secure Store AppId and CredentialType=SQL

    I'm running into a problem when a form is published with the below conditions in my QA and PROD environments, I am unable to query a SQL data source:

    • qRules injected OR form contains code
    • SQL data connection is published to data connection library
    • UDCX file is edited to use the below authenticaton settings:
      • <udc:ConnectionString>Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Initial Catalog=DB;Data Source=SQLServer,1414</udc:ConnectionString>
      • <udc:Authentication><udc:SSO AppId='SSOAppID' CredentialType='SQL' /></udc:Authentication>
    • Secure Store Target Application is set up to use Group, Username, Password settings. SQL Credentials are set for this Target application
    • Form is published as browser-based

    In both the Event Log and SP Trace Log I receive an error:

    Type: DataAdapterException, Exception Message: The form cannot connect to the data source.Invalid authorization specification)

     If I were to replace the <udc:SSO ... /> parameter with the below authentication method or embed the authentication (User ID=xxx;Password=xxx;)into the connection string, it works.

       <udc:UseExplicit CredentialType="Sql">
        <udc:UserId>SQLUserID</udc:UserId>
        <udc:Password>SQLPW</udc:Password>
       </udc:UseExplicit>

    It also works if I remove qRules and all code from the form, while leaving the authentication method as udc:SSO.

    Thank you for any help you can provide.

    Hi All,

    Any idea how this is happening?

    Hi tenbao,

    It sounds like the UDCX connection is unable to use the secure credentials when there’s code in the form and this sounds like some security restriction associated with running the form in the sandbox.

    Could you try to admin publish the form?

    Due to some support requirements, I won't be able to admin publish it. Doesn't sound like you've run into this kind of issue before. I was hoping there was a known cause. So I guess there's no way to use SSO SQL credentials in a Browser-based form with code.
