calling a phone number from a field using InfoPath 2003

    Hi,

I am using InfoPath 2003 and have a project plan form set up.  I have a field where the user enters an email address to send the form to.  I also have a telephone number field.

Is there a way of creating a hyperlink to call the number in the field? (Since the office's internal set up is that you get internet through the phone's internal modem).

What I mean is, is there a way of typing a phone number in a field which automatically turns into a hyperlink, and upon cilcking it will open a dialog box asking the user whether they really want to call that number, and then sending the call to the user's phone so it is as if they have called it (all they would have to do is lift the reciever and click the hyperlink?)

Complicated question, hope it makes sense.

Yes, this is relatively easy if you have Skype or some other VOIP provider.

Just create a field that has a default value of: concat("callto://+1", field)

Then, add a static hyperlink to your form that points to that field.
