    Which rules to use??

    Hi again,

Thanks again for all feedback from other posts - it has helped dramatically.

I have other scenario that needs your asistance, I have no idea what function this would be called in order to create the rule...so here is goes :)

I have a list of Products which a unique list of Sub Products in each.  I want the ability that when a product is selected (using a drop down box) then the sub products will then show.  I also want the ability for a user to pick multiple products. I have lots of Products and Sub Products - approx 40 each so i want to keep the user from as condensed as possible.  Both Products and Sub Products will be driven using a button option or check box.

What are your recommendations and how do I set up the rules?

If you are able to mock a demo so I can follow that would be great :)

     Products                           Sub Products

     Colours                              Red, Blue, Pink etc

    Shape                                 Square, Round, Triangle

    Hope this helps :)

    Hi LindaKer,

Glad to hear that you are on your way to eternal happiness with InfoPath.

I would recommend that you have two dropdowns in a repeating section - the first dropdown for products and the second for sub products. The second filters on the first - just go into properties and specify filter and make sure the product equals what's selected in the first.

    I've attached a 2010 sample.

Thank you for your reply Patrick.

Any way that we could do it in a checkbox format instead?

Only reason is that there maybe multi products selected as well as sub products so when completing this form it could potentially end up being extremely large.  I was thinking checkboxes might be about to condense it........

    Cheers

    And,

Being able to select the product once but select several sub products.

So potential could end up with something like:

    Colours                             Red, Blue

    Shape                               Triangle

    Thanks
