Scrolling Faster in a drop-down list?

How can I scroll faster in a drop-down list?

If I type the first letter, it goes to it, but for the 2nd letter, it restarts the search.

Is there a way to do this.

It is a bit irritating because my drop-down is from a web service, and contains many values.

    Help!!

    Thanks

    Hi Christiane,

If you continue to type the first letter of the choice you are looking for it will continue the search. However, this might not be optimum. You could implement cascading drop-downs that would allow further filtering to be performed. If the choices are alphabetical, you could have one drop-down for each letter of the alphabet and then filter the second drop-down to only include those options that start with that letter.
