How to have a picture attached to an email once submitted

    Hi,

I have an InfoPath 2010 form which is published on SharePoint 2010 - it has a number of picture fields which users can upload pictures on. (the picture is added to the form as an image not a link)

Once submitted the email is sent to a global email and i would like that the pictures are saved either as an attachment to the email, if this is not possible is there anyway that i could have the picture visible in the body of the email as at the moment eveything else displays just the picture is not sent to the email.

I have build this form using a blank form template rather than an email one which i know sends the image once submitted however as i would like to have the form published on a sharepoint site it does not work as well as i would like.

Is there any way of getting this to work on a blank form.

     Thank you

I think if the images are uploaded to Sharepoint you could use variables in a workflow and then attach them to an email using a custom action from http://spdactivities.codeplex.com/

Are you using the InfoPath rich client or a browser based form?

Assuming the former, are you also using Outlook 2010?

I just tested the rich client and it works fine - I can see the image in the email message. Make sure that you have your email data connection configured to send the view not the attached XML.

If you need recipients to have the ability to open the form, add a link to the form's location in SharePoint to your view and show it just before submit.

Re: How to have a picture attached to an email once submitted

    Hi,

     Thank you for your responses

The form is only published on sharepoint it does not save or add records to the form library so the images are not saved in sharepoint at all. The form is emailed to a global email only.

The form has been created in Infopath Designer 2010. I have used a blank form template rather than an email template (from the available form templates) as i would like it published on different areas on SharePoint.

When i use an email template > add the picture to the form > submit > send email > the email body has the picture attached which users can then save and use

However, using a blank form> i have the same form design> picture added to the form> submit > send email> the body of the email does not contain picture just a field saying picture name, type and size. You then have to open for form attachment> open the form again> then get the picture from there.

Is there anyway that i could get the blank form template (i rather use) to submit the picture in the body of the email or save as a seperate attachment to the email so can be used as needed?

    Thank you

    Hi Kully,

    Sorry for the delay.

We have an InfoPath plugin called qRules that will upload images to a Pictures library and convert them into links. I'm thinking that might work.

Please email support att Qdabra dawt com for help with qRules.
