Choice list shows 2nd field depending on answer

I have a list, we'll call ITSR. On the form for this list, I want to have a choice field or drop down field. Based on the choice that is chosen, I would like another "comment"(Multi-line text field) to appear. Is this possible without requiring coding? Scenario: Field: Is this new coverage? (Yes/No/Maybe) If "Yes" a new field or comment section would appear. If "No" the field would not appear at all or be grayed out. If "Maybe" the new field or comment section would appear.

    Hi Stephanie,

This is very similar to your other post which I just answered. Same answer here. Easy to do with filtering.

Patrick, thanks for the response. I don't see that this is possible in the same way as the other item. What I want to happen is to populate option2 based on the response of Option 1, which is a choice list.

Option 1: is this new covrage? (Yes/No/Maybe) based on the person making this choice it would activate Option 2 which is a comment field (text) and should only appear if the answer is "Yes"....

I'm not seeing how filtering would help this scenerio? Can you please explain more in depth on how you see filtering as providing a solution for me in this scenerio?

    Thank You!

    Stephanie

    Hi Stephanie,

Sorry for the quick response without reviewing your post more.

You can add a section to your form and copy the multi-select into it. Then, add a formatting rule to the section that hides it if the values for the other field do not equal the values that would require it.
