Get count of characters in a repeating table AND show a label if count is greater than a number

I have a repeating table, displayed multiple times with a filter.  In each table there is a common rich text box (comments)  field1, a plain textbox (Character count) field2,  and a plain textbox label field3 that will be visible if CharCount field2 > 1000.

Character count using string-length function is correctly reflecting the count in field2, for each field1 comments typed in each repeating table section.

The problem: there is field3 is only visible in section 1 when it applies and is not visible in other sections when they apply.  See attachment where I highlighted in yellow.  field3 should be RED FONT, visible and say "COMMENT FIELD EXCEEDS 1000 CHARACTERS"

    Condition on field3 label is:

if field2 (count) is blank OR

if field2 is less than or equal to 1000

    Hide field3.

How do I get this field3 to correctly display in each section when condition applies?  What puzzles me is the count works correctly in each section, why wouldn't the label?

Update/solution: I revised my approach and instead put a rule on field1 that sets the value of field3 when field2 > 1000. Removed condition on field3 to hide. Works like a charm!

Update: I'm going to post this as a new thread because it has nothing to do with my original post.

I missed the new thread. Where is it?
