Populate Textbox based on Combobox Selection

I have been researching this all day and I believe I am very close but I cannot quite get this to work.  I have a combobox which is populated from a secondary data connection.  The combobox contains employee names and is filtered to only show Active employees from a sharepoint list.  This part is working well.  next I would like a textbox to populate based on the selection of the combobox.  In the textbox I would like the employees position to populate.  I have created a action rule to run when the combobox changes.  The rule is to set  a fields value.  I select the textbox as the fields value I would like to change.  next I beleive I need to apply a filter to the secondary data connedtion to filter the field position "is equla to" the value of the combobox, but this does not seem to work.

Any help or direction is very much appreciated!

    Hi Chris and welcome!

ComboBox is not what you want. Why? Because it encodes multiple values, so your comparison will fail since it can't parse out the value you want. Use a stock dropdown instead with one value and it should work just fine.

I was unable to use the drop down since my list was on a different page or site, so i was only able to use a drop down from lists within the same site collection. I was able to get this to work by creating a rule to run when the combobox changes to set the value of the text box to the secondary data connection field "position" filtered where employee name (from the secondary data connection) is equal to the name selected in the combobox. I hope this makes sense and is able to help someone else!
