    Data connection sorting not being applied.

    I have setup a data source that works correctly in the browser-sorted by customer name descending. I have an issue when I try to create an item through SharePoint workspace (using the same form) it sorts the same data source by ID descending. I cannot figure out where to look to try to resolve this issue. Is there anyway to control the form behavior offline? Thanks, Jesse

    Hi Jesse,

    I don't think you can fix how the cached values are sorted.

    You may be able to use a custom xsl:sort in your view or qRules Sort command to fix this when opening from workspace.

    Please attach your form and we'll take a look.

    Is there anywhere that has a way to setup a custom xsl:sort?  I would be interested in pursuing that further if possible.  I do not see the ability to attach anything to a post, can you provide further direction?

    Thank you for your response!

    Yes, go to File->Publish->Export Source Files and create a folder and click OK. Close InfoPath Designer and go to that folder. Open your XSL file in Notepad. Find out where you want to do the sort and add it. I believe we have examples from a long time ago that show how to do this. You may need to use xdPreserve to make sure it roundtrips.

    I found 2 xsl files (upgrade.xsl, view1.xsl).  I am not sure which one to modify.  I want to add this in somewhere (I think):  <xsl:template match="my:CustomerData" mode="xd:preserve">
       <div>
       <xsl:sort select="CustomerName"/>
          The value of Customer Name is <xsl:value-of select="CustomerName"/>
       </div>
    </xsl:template>

    I am also seeing 'copy-of' values that I do not know how to handle.  Am I headed in the right direction?

    Thanks again,

    Jesse

    Hi Jesse,

    Yes, and Jimmy can help you with this when he meets with you on Tuesday.

    Thanks for your patience!
