 I've created a huge form on our companies SharePoint 2010 enterprise server. The form is a browser enabled infopath form. A few days ago we started getting  this error after importing 1000 (started with 25) records from an outside data source using access services:

"The amount of data that was returned by a data connection has exceeded the maximum limit that was configured by the server administrator" blah blah blah....

Our administrator is reluctant to up the response size any more than it is, what specifically can I do to reduce the response size on the client side? I have a few data connections connecting to other external lists on the server as well. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Well, you could set up some filtering on the server so that you aren't pulling so much data into your form.

I think Access Services uses REST so you could create an ODATA filter in that. Lots of info on the web about that and it's server side.

 We figured out what was causing the error. The limit set by our administrator was at default. I enabled to many columns in the connection and it didn't like it. I'll look into the Odata - Rest connection fix. Does any one know what the limit is on how many data connections you can use in an infopath form? trying to wrap my head around all the data connection methods. We have a bunch more applications to create and would hate to run into a data conversion disaster. Thanks Patrick

No limit I am aware of and some of our forms have 20-30 connections and they work just fine.

Are you saying there was some server limit that was causing REST to fail. If so, that's very interesting. Please let us know which one.

 I was getting server limits on the soap connections. I'm still looking into the Rest connection setup process. Our concerns with the soap connections are that the more items we import from other databases the less columns we can use in the data connections due to the size limit. Good to know we can at least get 30.
