    InfoPath 2010 - Repeating Table

    Hi All:

Is it possible to auto generate rows after a user has inserted more rows and copy one of the columns of the table from a repeating table. In other words, I have a repeating table(Table1), when the user inserts a new item the second table that I have created (Table2) should automatically create the items previously added by the user and copy the content of column "VM Name" to the table 2.

    Table 1:

    VM Name
    Environment
    Select...
    Insert Item

    Table2:

    VM Name
    CPU
    Memory
    Hard Disk
    Select...12468Other
    Select...4812163264128
    YES  NO

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi JuanMA,

This can be done using the qRules Insert and SetValue commands.

Please let us know if you would like further detail.

Re: InfoPath 2010 - Repeating Table

    Hi Patrick:

It actually did not work the way i want. What I want is the following: If table 1 inserts a new item(row), then insert a new item or row to table 2 but only copy the VM name and the other columns should have the controls I have added to them. Is this too complicated?? I was able to accomplish this but with a lot of fields created. I put each row in a section and added rules. It works perfectly but the problem is that I have a lot of fields..

    #
    VM Name
    Environment
    1
    2
    3
    etc.....

    Hi Patrick:

That did not help either. Maybe im not explaining this properly.

If user inserts a new item in table 1, then insert item in table 2. Basically Table 2 should replicate to table 1. So if table 1 has 5 rows table 2 should have 5 rows ,too. Plus when a user enters the VM Name in table 1 table 2 should copy that name and add it to VM Name field.

    Thanks again!

Re: InfoPath 2010 - Repeating Table

    Hi  JuanMA,

Thank you for the additional information. To my understanding, you are looking for a way to copy only one column which is the VM Name. However, the samples which Patrick gave were meant to copy one row from one table to another. It is possible to configure these samples to only copy one column, and then modify the form so that it will still have the custom controls you intended. If it still doesn't turn out as you like, please feel free to attach a sample of your form so we can get a clearer idea of what isn't working for you.
