    Starter Form

I am trying to create a copy of Qdabra's Starter form with the help section. If I create a picture button, I can put a picture on it that looks like the Show Help button in the Starter form but it doesn't have a spot to make the label say, concat(substring(translate(ToggleHelp, "truefalse", "HideShow"), 1, 4), " Help"). If I change it to a regular button it is a grey button like the Save and Submit buttons that are on the form. I am apparently doing something wrong. Please help.

    Hi Gail,

For Picture buttons, just add two pictures and set hide-show based on a formatting rule. See attached sample.

But it is the Starter Form Hide-Show - Updated.xsn from the Master class that has what I am talking about. If you open the properties window it says Button Properties not Picture Button Properties but the button looks like a picture. It says Show Help and there isn't a grey button around it. And the instructions say to put the tranlate code into the Label. Picture buttons don't have a Label field.

Yep, picture buttons don't have a label. And the Starter Form Hide-Show doesn't either. It is using wingdings font to show a downward pointing arrow that looks like a picture, but it is actually a font.

We are talking about different versions of the starter form. Mine has the words Show Help and a regular button with a Label field not a picture button. The label field has concat(substring(translate(ToggleHelp, "truefalse", "HideShow"), 1, 4), " Help") in it instead of text. I have attached the starter form from the Infopath Master class, Chapter 1, Part 2, Lab 2.  I have attached the xsn.

    Hi Gail,

    It's the same version.

I changed mine to add a picture button, because that's what you mentioned above in the post.

Labels with concats don't work for picture buttons because they're pictures. The analog is to use separate pictures.

    Humbly yours,

    P
