InfoPath Dev

I'm attempting to follow along with Hilary's walkthrough on the use of the RefreshSharePointListtems command (http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/hilary/archive/2012/07/05/qrules-refreshsharepointlistitems-walkthrough-for-v4-2.aspx) but am having problems getting the owssrv.dll connection set up right. If I take the list GUID out of my known good mapping.xml (used for SubmittoSharePointList) and build my URL to http://server/site/subsite/_vti_bin/owssrv.dll?Cmd=Display&List={GUID}&XMLDATA=TRUE, I get a well formed but blank HTML document back. Changing the GUID throws an error, so it looks to be working, but I don't understand why I'm not getting any data back. Searching through StackOverflow and the like haven't turned up much. Any thoughts as to what the problem may be?

Environment: SP2010 on Windows Server 2008, client is IE10 and InfoPath 2010 on Win7.

 Try adding &noredirect=true to your URL and test in IE.

 I get the same results (well formed empty HTML) both with and without the &noredirect=true parameter.

 So - given that result, I imagine IP is not going to let you create a data connection using that link. There is another alternative for the command that uses a SharePoint list connection to the list for Refresh - what version of qRules are you using?

 Is the owssrv.dll route supposed to work? I can pursue additional troubleshooting with SharePoint specific resources if this should be working on out of the box SharePoint 2010.

 I changed the GUID of the connection to a different and unrelated list and was able to get owssrv.dll to work. Since the connection GUID is replaced by qRules with the one in the mapping file, I'm up and running now apart from a few debug tasks still left to work out. I suspect the problem is the default view for my target list.
