The following file is referenced in the .xsf file but is not part of the form:

Yesterday I had my form working great but today the form won't open with the above referenced message.  It is looking for ViewOptions1 and myschema.xsf, claimingi its referenced but not part of the form.  I opened the cab files and both are there so I am not sure why this is happening or how to fix it.

If I attempt to open the xsn in Design mode, I get error "InfoPath has encountered an error.  The operation failed". No additional messages so I have no clue.  I opened the template.xsn from the SharePoint location to get the messages I noted above.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?  Do I have to start over with the form?

Thanks Hilary.  I am rebuilding from a backup copy instead of troubleshooting this further.

Happy to take a look - sorry I couldn't see anything - you are right, that initial error when you try to open in design mode is not at all helpful.
