    Serial for Repeating table data

    Hi,

Am using infopath to generate a small report which is weekly based.

for this, i have created a Retrieve Connection(from a sharepoint list) and displaying the data in a repeating table and applied few filters using Rules.

Now my issue is, i should have  Serial Number for every row(1, 2, 3...) for the filtered data of a repeating table.

Can someone help me how to achive this.

    Thanks,

    Paturu

    Hi-

The easiest way of filtering data that comes from a SharePoint list data connection is by setting the queryFields, and letting the data connection filter the data. If you query all list data, then filter on the view (by hiding rows) the form might encounter performance issues if the data set is large.

Your question is not clear. Can you explain what you've tried and why it's not working? Maybe you could illustrate this by including screenshots? You can include attachments via the Options tab when responding. Thanks.

    Hi ErnestoM,

    Thanks much for quick reply.

I couldn,t find option how to filter SharePoint list data by setting query fileds and hence am retrieving all the list data and filtering by hiding rows.

Can you plese let me know the steps how to do this?

Uploaded the screenshots for your reference.

In the attachments, Without filtering the data, am getting the sr.No(1,2,3) in a sequence. but after filtering  the Sr.No is not is sequence(1,3)

    Thanks,

So, in this screenshot, item 2 is getting filtered out?

Yes. In screen shot 2nd item is filtered.

As you suggested i tried using queryfields. If i have single query field am able to see expected results.

But my requirement have mutilple query fields with OR condition i.e.,

"If title contains "Item1" OR description contains "Item2" ".

Can you please suggest how to pass data for multiple queryfields.

Sorry, but the technique I suggested only works for exact matches.

It sounds like you'll have to query everything and filter in the form itself. You could also look into some tutorials for REST data connections and see if that works for you.

    Good luck!
