Linking from one view of form to another.

    Hi,

I have a 2 table database and have the records showing in a repeating table in my form.

I created an a separate view for the form for the insert and have a button on the table view that I want to take the user to the insert view in a pop up.

Now for the most part I have the two views working but I have two questions.

Firstly, is this the way to do it or should I create a separate form altogether for the insert?

Secondly, if it is the way can somebody point me in the right direction on how to do this link.

    Jacqui.

    Hi-

Having a view to see the data and a view to insert data is fine. I don't think a separate form is needed.

But I'm a little confused by your question. A button should allow you to add an action to switch views. Have you tried this?

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

Sorry I have a button that can switch views for the insert, but they have asked if they can have it as a hyperlink and open in a pop up and it is that I can't do.

I didn't explain too well there.

A hyperlink control doesn't support view switching, and views cannot open as popups (as far as I know). Maybe some code could be written but there's nothing out of the box to support this.

You could format the button to that it looks like a hyperlink (remove background color and borders, underline, color=blue).

Formatting the button to look like a link sounds like a plan,

    Thanks Ernesto.
