Look and Feel of InfoPath vs. SharePoint Lists

Hello, before I go any further I must disclose that I am a civilian i.e NOT an IT person. So your patience is greatly appreciated.

I stumbled up SharePoint on our corporate Intranet and have created some basic lists for my Team which have literally revolutionised how we record data. Things have proceeded well, and now that I have had a taste of SharePoint my imagination has reach a point where it exceeds my abilities, and I have called on the services of out IT dept. SharePoint for them is also a new thing, but at least they can talk and understand the language of IT and we have been working together.

My problem is that the IT guys have provided me with a solution in InfoPath which works, but my only disappointment is that the form which my team will be filling in looks (and feels) different to a normal SharePoint 2010 list which we have a number of. The IT guys say that it can't be made t look like a SharePoint Custom list

Is there a way to make an InfoPath input form look the same as a the forms of a standard SharePoint Custom List? Is there not some type of template which can be applied?

I appreciate this may seem like a small compromise for all the feature which InfoPath offers, but for my Team who are even less IT literate than me this will be a problem, and ultimately I would like the whole site to look and feel the same.

    Many thanks.

If you connect to your SharePoint List List Tools>List>Customize Form.  You can use the list new item box as a "template".

Also how are you adding items to the list without the form? Add new item at the bottom of your list? - then the above may be your best bet. Otherwise the look and feel of the Infopath form could be customized to an extent to look like the SharePoint list box.

I noitce things like borders, cell background colour etc. If put into a web part page so that the form can be filled out using Internet Explorer etc., you'll need to much about with that page too, to make it as similar as possible.
