    InfoPath 2010 >>> SharePoint 2010 Document

I want to know if it is possible to code an InfoPath form (published to SharePoint 2010) to open a SharePoint document when the user clicks on a drop-down list item on the form.  I have the InfoPath Form coded to get the list of documents from the SharePoint site assets (where the document resides).  There is a place to code the value as a hyperlink so I think it should be possible, I just can't find the resourses/code to do so.  I will be coding in VB 6.0 via Visual Studio 2008, if necessary.

    Hi ShannonW,

Yes, you can do this using a file:// protocol and asking the user to click a link. To do it programmatically, our qRules plugin has a command to open a URL (which could be the link to the file). If you're interested in the latter, we'd be happy to show you how. No code required.

    Thanks!

Yes please explain how this is accomplished.  I currently have the form created and have the drop-down boxes with rules to show when a particular option button is clicked and have the value of some of the listed items set as a hyperlink (in drop-down listbox properties).  When I click on those list items, it does not go to the hyperlink value.

Update:  I do know how to simply put a hyperlink into the form, however, I was hoping to be able to insert hyperlinks into the drop-down list which is the part that doens't work.  I have looked at the qRules site and don't think I that is what we want.  I will use the basic hyperlink function if I can't get the drop-down to work but visually the drop-down looks cleaner and neater than a form with a bunch of hyperlinks listed.  Thanks for your help!
