Hi

I need the users to only be able to pick a date 3 days in the future. Please help.

i would add a of rule

CONDITION 

 field1 is not blank

AND

field1 is greater than  addDays(today(), 3) -------------   ( insert formula to input addDays(today(), 3) )

 when that condition is met you can add a couple of actions

i.e throw message

and/or

clear the field (setfields value to "")

sorry ..

that will allow all dates that are less than 3 days in the future

using the same function you can trim the amount of values your datefield will allow
