date time validation could not be achieved

Hi I could not perform validation on a date time field but for other fields I could validate(attached a snap shot).

I have added list through infopath data connection and I have set rule

Any Occurance of Date is equal to testdate(field)

the field type in info path is date and time also the format is US time format

Could anyone suggest me the approach

    here is the out come

I'm a little confused. The first screenshot shows a validation rule on the date field, but the second screenshot shows a validation error in the second field?

Re: date time validation could not be achieved

     Hi,

Sorry for bit confusing. I have attached the partial screen shot meaning the validation worked with title but not with date.

    Rule:

Any Occurance of Title is equal to testtitle(field)

Any Occurance of Date is equal to testdate(field)

so if the same title occurs rules are applied to show error but for the title the error is not shown.

    Steps that I did

    1) created a data connection to the sharepoint list in infopath

    2) created two fields with their date(Date and Time) and title(Text)

    3) set validation rules:

Any Occurance of Title is equal to testtitle(field)

Any Occurance of Date is equal to testdate(field)

    4) preview

please suggest some steps to achieve date validation against list in sharepoint.

    Thanks,

Re: date time validation could not be achieved

You'll have to look at the actual xml values being stored in your form for the dates. You could have this in the secondary data source:

    2012-02-01T01:23:34

But have this in the main data source:

    2012-02-01

    or even

    2012-02-01 01:23:34

In which case, there's no match.

Simply drag both into the canvas and display their raw XML value (not the formatted date) in order to compare them.
