    Reduce Form File Size?

    Hi all,
I've been searching around the web and this forum to see if there are any methods to use to reduce a form's file size.  I found a couple here, but they didn't really have any answers.

My current file is 1,377 kb.  I'd like to reduce the file size to help reduce its footprint when loaded onto sharepoint.  I've exported my source files to look at the size of the views (there are 13).  The size seems to correspond to the number of fields on the views... i.e. the views with more fields are larger... which makes sense and there are a lot of fields.

My issue is that I don't know html or any other developer code (although I plan on learning!), so opening the views to see if there is anything else I can do to reduce size is sorta futile.

Therefore, my question(s) are: 1. Is there anything in the XSL files I can look for that might lead to larger file sizes? (perhaps old data connections no longer needed?)  2. Is there anything I can do within the design form itself format-wise to reduce file size?

Thanks for any guidance that can be provided!  I've added a screenshot of the file sizes... not that it will help, but it couldn't hurt.

    Hi Jen,

If the views are long, you may be stuck with it. The data connections are not included in hte XSLs so those won't contribute to the size.

You might be able to reduce the number of views by using one with conditional sections that hide-show.

We'd be happy to look at this in more depth if you want to do a support pack or purchase an InfoPath Form Detailing.  Go to Qdabra dot com and it's under Consulting - look for Support.

    Thanks!
