    Drop-down list problem

I have 2 drop-down lists, both get data from database.

    1st list is Name

    2nd list is Vessel

I can get ‘when Name is selected, Vessel is auto-filled’     & When Vessel is selected, Name is auto-filled’ .            However, I can only get this when only one rule is place.

Issue. When both rules are in place i get the “infinite loop” error.

Q- How do I get past this error. I want to be able to select 'Name which auto-fills 'Vessel, but if I don’t know the 'Name, I want to be able to select 'Vessel which auto-fills 'Name.

Is it to do with the conditioning?

    Any help is appreciated.

You condition would most likely be:

If Name is not blank AND Vessel is blank, then run the rule to set the Vessel.

If Vessel is not blank AND Name is blank, then run the rule to set the Name.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks Ernesto- That helped a lot. It stopped the loop and I just set another conditioning rule to bring up an error if Name did not equal Vessel within data base.
