    Person picker color change

I have a person picker field in my infopath form. The form has 5 views in it. I modified some properties of the field in the first view and copied that into all the other views. So far so good. I wanted to change the color of it and it simply refuses to change in the infopath designer. If I publish it, I can see the modified color in my browser view. But, when I choose 'Customize Form' and view the same in designer, its back to the original color. Not sure whats causing this behaviour. Do I have to clear any local data caches? Any help/ tip is much appreciated :) Thanks, Swetha.

So - that's unexpected behavior. If you create a simple test form, can you change the color on the control? That is - I'm trying to understand if it is the copying / pasting that caused it to be a fussbudget, or if it is something else. If you feel adventurous - you can save a source files and go take a look at the view xsl to see if you can manually change the color there...

Thanks for the quick reply Hilary! I created a simple form with few views and they work as expected-Partly.. Surely I must be missing something somewhere. When a new item is submitted the form's people picker loses its bg color. When I view the item, the color change is seen. Is there a way to have the color remain in edit mode as well? This is in the test form, the actual form issue still remains. I am not sure if its because of copy paste as that was what I did with the test form as well. How do we do save it as source files and look at xsl? Also, the form's people picker does reflect the color change in browser view, its the infopath designer that doesn't retain the change. So I change it to a desired color publish it, look at it in the SP list view, I see the change. But I run it locally (F5), its the old color. Thanks, Swetha.

Well - what does this mean:

When a new item is submitted the form's people picker loses its bg color

Is this a SharePoint List form?

I think SharePoint Lists can have multiple forms associated with them - any chance the form for "view" has the change and "edit" does not? I've not run into an instance where a form displays correctly in the browser and not in preview (usually it is the other way around).

Saving a form as source files can be done from the Publish menu --> export source files

The test form I created is a sharepoint list form. I created a test SP list with a people picker field. Opened it in InfoPath designer, added and customized three views with different colors. Published the form. When I add a new item to the list, the form that comes up doesn't have the bg color for people picker. But when I click on an existing item in the list, the display has the color. I checked the URL of the item and noticed that if it is in display mode with (displayifs.aspx?List=....) the color is visible, but if its in (editifs.aspx?List=...) it doesn't show the color. I'll try the source file and view xsl now! :) Hopefully that'll be my fix!! Thanks again!!!

See what a bully I am? Always asking for more info - but now what you are describing makes more sense to me.

I'm wondering if this setting might help:

Thanks for bullying, that woke me up and made me use my brain to explain properly and think a little clearly! :) I see what you mean by Form Options setting, will look into that.
