Auto increment method's Double submit and Sharepoint Workflow

    Hi

I just finished publishing a form that has an auto-increment number field which uses the double submit method (one to a doc lib and then to the main list).

The only thing left to do is to create a workflow for email notification.

I wanted to ask if there might be a conflict when the workflow is set to "when an item is created" and the double submit method of the published form

Would the workflow run during the first submission or will it only run on the second because it only created an entry in the main connection during the second submit?

    Has someone encountered this predicament?

I tried once before that involve editing the form via workflow but it caused my form to collapse. The form no longer opens whenever i tried to add a new item.

That's great. You could add a condition on the workflow that is based on a promoted property from your form. That way you can control when the workflow actually does stuff.

Your submitting your form to  2 different locations  -  Workflow would run at the item level of the List you set it to.

So if you had 2 different workflows or added the same one to both libraries it would run on each item.

Good point the other reply brought up.  Promote your infopath fields to the list or library   then have an IF ELSE Logic   to trigger any action you would like in the workflow to run on that item
