Showing top 10 of records in a list

Hi, I've a list "employees" which contains all the employees of the company. I've also a second list "messages", this list has messages about some employees. (Not everyone has a message, some employees can have more than one message) I would like to show all the employees and the number of their messages. For example: Evy has 1 messages Jef has 2 messages Kate has 2 messages Kelly has 0 messages. Is it possible to create this in InfoPath? I've tried, but didn't succeeded :(

     Hi Evy,

You can access list data inside InfoPath by setting up a secondary data connection and then querying the data connection to import specific data from the list.  Here is a link to instructions on how to query a SharePoint list and import data into InfoPath:

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/infopath-help/add-a-data-connection-to-a-sharepoint-document-library-or-list-HP010093160.aspx#BM3

How is your "messages" list set up?  What columns does it contain?  The list structure will determine what list columns are needed and what calculations need to be performed.

    Thanks for your reply JenniferLindsay!

The list employees contains the columns: Employeename, employeenumber. The list messages has the following columns: employeename, employeenumber, message.

I've 2 data connections. One for the list employees and one for the list messages. When i want to calculate the messages per employee, it says always one.

Is a repeating table the correct way to show al the employees? In the repeating table i have a dataconnection with the list employee. One column i coupled to the dataconnection of the list messages. In this column i want to show the number of messages. I changed the type to calculated field. The formule: count(employees) where the employee is the same as the record from the list employees.
