Auto Populate Data to a task

Good day!!!I am trying to figure out a way to place a button on my InfoPath form that will open a SharePoint list activity with pre populated data from the current InfoPath form.  Here is an example...1) Customer creates a request in a InfoPath form and submits to the SharePoint site.2) Once I receive the form and approve I would create an activity task from data on the form3) A button would be placed on the form and when I click it will populate particular data from form to task. Any ideas?  I am not a developer so writing code is a bit difficult.  Unless I can get explicated instructions. Any help or ideas is much appreciated!!!

    Hi Toni,

We did a webinar in January showing how to pull tasks into a form and change their values. No code required, but configuring the ShP stuff is a bit tricky. I'm not sure if the webinar shows how to create new tasks, but that should also be relatively straightforward. Check out Qdabra's YouTube channel for the webinar Jo-Anne Alfafara did in January.

Another approach is to use qRules to set up a correspondence between your task list and your form. We've done this before and even have an XML Template Part with notes that you could use. qRules has a free trial and it's inexpensive. If that's an option for you, send us an email and we'll send you the info.

    Best,

    Patrick
