    Sections not Hiding

Hi there, I have created a form for audit feedback and have been looking on this site for help and advicce which I have found, however I cannot seem to get the sections with the buttons on to hide, I have a section which is hidden at the top of the form with bolean check boxes for each section the button sits in and have created rules to change the fields to true to hide the section the button is in when it submits, but this isn't happening!!!! I am pretty non techi so any advice would be great especially if it is in laymans terms and simple idiot proof steps for me to follow.

    Many Thanks in advance  Alison

Hi - looks like you may have made a little error in rule order. Your form submits to the library and then you are setting your field to true. Well - when the form is re-opened from the library, it is the XML that was submitted prior to setting the field to true! Basically, you have saved your changes, then made another change and closed the form. :) Just move those rules before the submit and you should be A-OK.

Hi Hilary, Thanks for your quick reply, i think thats cracked it. Simple eh!! I have been teaching myself how to use infopath so this site has been fantastic, just takes some time trying to figure it all out.  I'm sure I'll be in touch again soon with some other problem. Thanks

    Hi Hilary,

I have amended the form and attached it again as it still doesnt appear to be working as it should. Its officially driving me nuts now.....its taken a while to get to this stage and this is the last bit and I just cant make it work. Please can you Help....Is it because its submitting it to the form library and then emailing it too?

I'd be grateful if you could have another look, Thanks Alison

You attached it back on your original post? Rules are still in the wrong order as far as I can see - in this screen shot, all the red circled rules on the final submission button need to happen before the blue circled rules.

Sorry, I thought I'd attached the amended one. I'll try again. Cheers

I think the issue is that your section is optional, so all those fields you are trying to set are not included in the form by default.

Aah ok, that makes sense......my intention was to hide them from users view, is there a way to make them invisible?

    Thanks Hilary

I think I've found it, section properties, conditional formatting, section name is present - hide this control. Yip, now lets see if that works. Thanks you're a star.
