    Autocompletar Datos

Hello, Since a couple of weeks the IT department set out to create a form for requests for computer equipment. I found it very interesting and I immersed myself in the subject, but I get stuck on a part. The form consists of three parts 1.-Applicant Information - To AutoFill with user data domain Beneficiary 2.-Data - What to autocomplete (Name - Manager - Department and Email) once put it validate a contact selector box. 3.-active data request - I'll do with TABS, just learn to do it. I stayed at point 2, try a thousand and one ways but not working. Anyone have any precedent that might not work as you did to succeed? Thanks Giancarlo Soto A. KRAFT FOODS - Peru

    My Reply:

    Hi Giancarlo and welcome!

I recommend using button tabs with separate sections that hide and show dynamically based on where the user clicks. Do not use views as it will create more work when you need to update. In my webinar last week, I included a sample XSN that showed this. Download the package here: http://www.yousendit.com/download/UW13SU5DTk10QTM0WjhUQw (link expires in 10 days).

The package contains two XSNs. Right click on the ViewInfo.xsn and choose Design. Preview. Replace the first three name rows with your 1-3 items. Make Name blank for the remaining rows. Save the XML as ViewInfo.xml. Close preview and close designer. Now, open the qSample.xsn in the InfoPath Designer (right click->Design). Go to Data->Data Connections and select ViewInfo and click Modify. Browse to the ViewInfo.xml that you just saved and click through the wizard accepting the defaults. Now, go into the sections in the form and replace them with the sections and fields for your form. Preview and see how it hides and shows sections based on the clicked tab.

    Good luck!

    Google Translate back to Spanish:

    Hola Giancarlo y bienvenidos!

    ¡Buena suerte!
