Displaying Some Fields of a Repeated Table on Another Repeated Table

    Hello All,

I wish to have some fields on a repeated table show up on a different repeated table with different fields from the former. For instance, I have a repeating table with fields A, B,C. I want to have another table with fields D, E,C and this C will be populated with the data in the field C of the first table.

How do I go about getting this done.

    Thanks.

What's the criterion for which Cs appear in which rows of the second table?

     Hello Jimmy,

Thanks for your prompt reply. There is none yet. I just want the C's to appear on the new table automatically. I do not have any requirement to filter yet....may be later. Also, I want the C row to have same values on the two tables.

    Thank you.

So in other words the criterion that the Cs should appear in separate rows of the second table in the same order as the rows of the first table?

Correct! I also want this update in realtime. Once the item is created in the first C, it is also inserted in the second C.

    Thank you Jimmy.

The general idea and formula would be to create a calculated value control in table 2 and give it a formula like this:

    firstTableGroup[count(preceding-sibling::firstTableGroup) = count(current()/preceding-sibling::secondTableGroup)]/fieldName

Could you give that a try?  If you get stuck, please provide a screenshot of your data source layout, and we can take it from there.

     Hello Jimmy,

Thanks for your reply. I will have to post these screenshot to get things going.

I have a field on the first form called Request. The properties of the Request control is highlighted on black.

I also have another field for this Request in another view of the form with the properties highlighted as shown below:

My question is how do I substitute the variables in the formula you gave me above to get this working.

     Thank you Jimmy!

Hi Jimmy, Thanks for your support so far. I have problems posting images here. I tried out the formula but it did not work. How do I upload screen shots here. However, I have the first image here. Thanks.

    Hello Ifeatu,

I'm sorry for my delay in getting back to you and thank you for uploading all of these images. However, what I really wanted to see is how your data source is laid out (i.e. in the taskpane), like this:

Could you provide a screenshot of that?

Hello Jimmy, Thank you for your prompt reply. I want the contents of what we have on the section labelled 1 to be displayed on 2. Best Regards,
