    Formula conditional logic help

Hello, I have a form that needs to calculate a formula based on a date. So for example, if the date entered year is 2012 then use value a and if it is 2013 used value b for a calculation. This is stored in a repeating table and the formula is currently housed on the textbox/properties default value section. I don't see an option of doing any sort of conditional logic in here. Is it possible and if not, how can i do the above? Thanks for the help.

    Hi-

This can be done with some rules and conditions. Could you attach the form (via the Options tab) to take a look at the source of the data? I can try to put together an example based on that.

    Thanks.

Are you doing calculations within each row, or are you calculating a value to total all the rows? Are value a and b fields within the rows or are they constant values?

Sorry, I must have been responding when your post came in. What I did was create 2 fields at the top of the form that can be changed as needed. Depending on the year the selection falls I pull from one or the other fields and store it in a hidden field. The calculation then uses this hidden field for its calculation. I needed to do this as it is a repeating table. Thanks again for the responses.

    Re: Formula conditional logic help

Hello, I am including this here since it is the same form and may be related to what i did above. I did not remove any fields i simply added fields to this form. Now some forms you can open and some you cannot. When I try and open this in infopath i get this error: Element '{http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/myXSD/2011-05-03T15:26:33}txtHdnMileageRate' is unexpected according to content model of parent element '{http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/myXSD/2011-05-03T15:26:33}Expenses'. When we open it in the browser we get the following: Document was created with the newer version of the form template; do you want to open with current version of the template? I click OK: Schema validation found non-datatype errors. Anyone know what the deal is? I had always thought as long as i did not delete anything I would be OK. I could change calculations and stuff but I should be OK. Anyone able to help me fix this or point me to what the issue might be? THanks.

This error happens when fields are deleted or fields are moved around in the schema. Are you sure that you have not moved around the schema nodes?

Thanks for the reply. I suppose that it is possible that I did. There are others who are editing this as well so it is possible that one of us possibly did move something. How do you fix it if so?
