Modifying the Date/Calendar Functionality for Bi-Weekly

Hello, I am trying to accomplish something that might not be possible and would like some insight on it. I have a form that will take donations, and I have two payment methods. Credit Card, and Payroll deductions.

With the payroll deductions I need the date control to just display or have highlighted every other Friday (Bi-Weekly) and have the other dates in the month greyed out or unclickable. Is this possible with custom coding?

    Thank You in advance,

    Brandon

There isn't a way to manipulate the date picker the way you describe, but is there a limit to the number of dates you want to make available?  Perhaps a dropdown box would do the job in this case.

Well I have the set dates which should only be available. (For Example: Jan 2, 2013, Jan 16, 2013, Jan 30, 2013, Feb 13 2013... June 18, 2013) For my form I would have a Start Date: & End Date: and hopefully another field that displays the number of pay periods in between.

Example would be: Start Date: Jan 2, 2013 //// End Date: Feb 13, 2013 Pay periods: 4.

Any insight on dropdown box method would be great.

So to clarify, you have a predetermined set of dates you want to provide, and there are fields called Start Date and End Date for which you would like the user to select values. Then you would like to determine the number of pay dates between them.  Is that correct?

Yes that is correct. I have been thinking about how to go about doing this, and I figured the best way would be...

Example: Have the Start_Date_DropDown with 5 pay dates. After the user selects a date (for this example we will say date number 3) display the End_Date_DropDown.

The only values that should be displayed in End_Date_DropDown should be dates 4, 5.

    What do you think?

Please give the attached form a try.  I have an XML data connection querying a resource file in the form to get the date values, but you might want to consider storing the file somewhere external to the form so that you can modify it without republishing the form.

    That works absolutely perfect!

I was currently building it using rules... Talk about tedious.

I have never dealt with using an External XML Source seems very benefical. I will implement this, and I appreciate the lesson. Thank You.
