I have an InfoPath form with a Field called Form Stage.

My InfoPath submits data on a data submit rule The rule:

1. Switch Views to "Thank You"
2. Sets the field Form Stage to StageX
3. Submits data to a SharePoint library.

The SharePoint library Form Stage Column reads StageX
If I open the form at this point the Field Column is Stage X - thus the form has updated and moves onto the next view

My workflow says Wait for Form Stage to equal StageX
Email X.

The workflow isn't seeing/reading that the Form Stage is StageX, thus the email isn't being sent.

The same people receive an email in the Workflow step before with a different Form Stage Equals. I’ve checked spelling, hidden spaces etc.

What can I test or fix to figure out why my email isn't being sent? The email is only going to one person at the moment. It was set to go to a group.

I'm logging in the workflow where I think I can i.e. before the Form Stage wait condition, yet it never seems to recognise that the column has updated information.

Based on your description, the workflow never finishes and is stuck waiting on that field to change to StageX. 

Is the form by chance getting checked out?  That would prevent it from triggering until it was checked back in.  And if you wait on another field, can you get it to trigger?

Thankfully our forms never get checked out.

I can look into the wrk being trigger by another field also
