For the first question, the simplest option is to just use the auto increment ID used by SharePoint. Once you submit, SharePoint assigns the next available integer. The column is typically hidden in the form library view but you can add it. If that's not acceptable, you would probably have a more complex process - this, for example. This question has been asked before and there are quite a few tutorials out there - just search in Google and you should find some examples. (In fact, it was answered today, here: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/24689/85472.aspx#85472)

For your second question, this is only possible via custom code. I can't think of anything available in InfoPath to accomplish this out of the box.

It works fine Thanks a lot!! Now i am left with below things.

i have seen one form it works in this way:- When user opens the form in status column (in the form itself) it says-NOT SUBMITTED YET, when form is filled and submitted it changes to-Saved Pending Peer Review- and when somebody from authrorized group picked up that form to reivew status-Engineer Picked UP like that..How can i do this?

When user submits the form it gets locked for all except some authorized group for review & update.

Could you help me how i can accomplished these as well. I have added abc.zip file where you can see the form which i saw somewhere and trying to make the same form me.

    Hi,

Since this seems like a new discussion, could you open a new thread?

When doing so, please clarify what you mean by "somebody from authrorized group", that is, how you plan on detecting this (e.g. via an Active Directory web service, via a SharePoint web service, etc.)

    Thanks.
