    Re: Hidden Required Fields Upon Submitting Form

     Hi new to Infopath myself. I am working on a shift checklist, and I have added some checkboxes. I also added a text area that has some instructions for a particular task. I want the instructions to be hidden unless a particular checkbox is checked. How do I accomplish that please?

    In VB I would do something like this:

    If checkbox.checked is =true

    then

    msg.lbl.visible= true

    I want if checkbox is checked, then instructions will show, however, if I uncheck it, the instructions become hidden.

    In InfoPath, you would add a conditional formatting rule on the text:

    Condition: checkField is not equal to true

    Formatting: Hide this control.

    Any particular reason you posted in this thread?  It seems unrelated to your question.

     Thanks for the response, but I am not trying to hide the checkbox, I am trying to hide the message box with the instructions. Well actually it is a table row with the instructions. I do not see a control like a label or such, like you would find in VB.

    Note: Instructions are written in a table row, I do not see a control that allows me to type the instructions.

    Yes, I know what you are looking to do.  The conditional formatting goes on the control to hide and the condition involves the checkbox.  Typically the simplest way to provide text that can be shown and hidden is to display it in a Calculated Value control.
