Field encryption with Windows Integrated Security

This is kind of a pie in the sky request, but is it possible to utilize the encrypt fields feature in qRules to utilize the user's Windows security context to encrypt and auto-decrypt InfoPath fields? Currently, as I understand it, a user would run the encrypt function on a field with a password they type in another field. And then to decrypt, that same password would be typed in a field to decrypt the encrypted field. Is it possible to have code that detects the user's AD membership and auto-decrypt a field?

    Hi Tenbao,

You can certainly encrypt and decrypt without prompting the user for a password, i.e. by using something that is automatically determined. This could be the userName() or some code or web service that calls active directory.

We don't have an example or a document on this, but it should be possible. If you have DBXL, that comes with the AD web service, making this even easier.

I know this is vague information, but hope it helps get you going. Good luck!
