    InfoPath hyperlink question

    Hi all,

I have been encountering an issue whereby I insert text on an Infopath filler 2007 form (designed in IP 2010 client) and then right click and make the text a hypelink but the hyperlink only works for web sites that are not related to my company. For example on the form the following text is inserted with the associated hyperlink addresses. After publishing the form, only the yahoo link works even though both are "active" links and trigger the mouse pointer to change to a finger, but when the internal link is clicked nothing happens, the web browser does not launch. :(

    Internal Link (my.companies.website)

    External Link (www.yahoo.com)

Does anyone have any words of wisdom? Thanks!

I would think this is related to the zone the url resolves to in IE.  Check if the internal link resolves as Local Intranet or Trusted Sites.  If it is in the trusted zone, then add the external link to trusted sites and see if it still works.

And where are you publishing the form?  Is it to SharePoint, or a network share?  And does your form have code?  Running from a network share has security implications, as .NET security policy may restrict permissions.

    Jim, thanks for the reply.

The form is published to a MOSS 2007 site as a 2007 IP client form. All of my company's web sites open into the Local Intranet zone due to the wildcard added to the Local Intranet zone Sites in the IE browser. Operationally, it all seems proper its just that in InfoPath forms opened in the IP client the links invoke no action to open the web browser when they're clicked. The same forms opened via IP form services operate as expected.

I have just tested with both IP 2007 filler and IP 2007 web form publishing methods using a brand new blank form with two URLs simply typed as text onto the blank form canvas as follows and both links activate when the form is published to open using IP form services, but only the Yahoo link activates if the form is published to open in the IP client. IP form services is not an allowed option for me... Any ideas? Thanks!
