InfoPath Dev

Greetings!

I am at my wits end with InfoPath. For the sake of my sanity (and my job) I am hoping someone here can help me out.

 

I have a Filler form (I chose this option for flexibility in the form interface) that will submit data to a SharePoint List. I am using CAML method. My user will key data into some common fields and then some Rules will plug the data into corresponding fields in the repeating table. The user will never actually see the repeating table, it will be hidden.

 

All works fine and dandy Except! that I have to unhide my repeating table and manually click in each field before it pulls the data from the common fields. How can I get my table to update the fields??

 

Keep in mind that in Design mode I can only see 2 fields in the table; "@NAME" and "FIELD". I have placed a rule on the "FIELD" element of the repeating table. the rule is as follows...

if @NAME = "RandomField"

Set Fields Value... "FIELD" = "RandomField"

I have not been able to pass the data in any other fashion/configuration. I am willing to try some coding but I am not an experienced programmer (I need the where and how).

Also - cannot afford qRules. I am told it is rather simple with qRules but unfortunatly not an option for me.

You'll probably need to use this technique for setting your CAML. You won't want to put your rule on your CAML field, but on the field in the main data source that has the info you want to submit. Let's say it is called RandomField - set the rule on it, using the technique above. Then you'll be able to specify that you want to set the Field with @Name attribute of "RandomField" to the value of the field with the rule on it....
