User completes their own "To" in email submit

    Good morning,

I need help with a form that I have made.  I would like for the user to be able to add another email address when he submmits the form.  For example...I have a firefighter that needs equipment repaired and submits a maintenance request to maintenance.  However, he should also send a copy to his District Chief, who is not always the same person.  I have set the email submit to the maintenance departemnt, but when I try to manually cc: someone else, it won't let me input an email address.  Is there a way to do this?  Thank you.

    Hi CathT and welcome!

Yes you can do this!  Just add a field to your form (dropdown or text field) where the user either types in the email alias or selects the user from a dropdown list (where the display text shows the "friendly" names and the value is the actual email address). Then, in your email data connector, click on the fx button for the cc and insert the field from the form. That should get the form sending to the email for the variable account.

    Good luck!

Thank you so much for the information.  However, being new to this whole thing and the terminology, I'm afraid I'm not getting it to work.

I added three fields to my form to allow them to type in three different addresses.  How do I put these in the fx so that they work?  I get an error.  Not knowing the language or how to put in the expression means I'm stuck or that this is impossible to occomplish.  Can I put up to three addresses in there?

Here's a screenshot - I'll have a sample for you in another post.

Here's a sample. Save it locally. Right click and select design to open in design mode. Walk through the email submit data connection to see how I used the formula editor to concatenate the fields together.
