This is unreal !!! InfoPath can't submit the form...because form already exists in document library

    Hi friends,

This is unreal !!!  Asking for your help...

Infopath 2010 and Sharepoint 2010 with Infopath Services running.

I've created simple Infopath form with 2 textbox controls (no rules or validations)

Published this form to Create New Sharepoint Library. Library created, all fine.

With DataConnection Wizard created DataConnection, so my Infopath form will display "Submit" button

and used formula to modified file name, so it would be unique.

Click "Add Document", my Infopath form displayed, enter 2 fields and "Submit". And here is an error:

    "InfoPath cannot submit the form.
The form was not submitted because a form named CorpName03-05-2012-11-35.xml already exists in the document library at
    https://xxxxx.com/xxx/mylib

Please contact the provider of the form."

So how this file already exists ? if I've use a formula(time stamp) to be unique on each submit and doc library is empty.

It's got to be something else. Any experts willing to help?

I guess I would need to look at the form. What you're describing shouldn't be happening, unless somehow the form is set up to submit twice, first submit creates the xml, second submit fails because the filename already exists. Want to attach the form? You can do so via the Options tab. Thanks!

    Thanks for reply Ernesto,

I can't go with attachments.... just wondering what if it's something in Sharepoint settings, but error message comes from InfoPath. Don't know what to do. Reinstall InfoPath?

What about creating a new form, and a new library, and seeing if it happens again?

I don't think reinstalling InfoPath will solve this.

All brand new ! Using Sharepoint Form Library Template created brand new InfoPath file with one TextBox(nothing else), deleted old library.

    even tried 2 version:

    1) with Filler Form Template

    2) web browser form template

Submitted, doc library created. Go to Sharepoint > "Add Documents" > "Submit" >

the same %$#&^ error. Aaaaaaaaaa... anyone has infopath office phone # ? :)

I had this happen to me even though I was using a unique name for the most part. What I had to do was on the sharepoint library I had to allow overwrite and I also set up versioning. The only time I would have the problem is when there was a change to the document and I needed to resubmit, but this option worked for me.

I know this is a really old post.

Even though this is an old post I thought I would post my solution since I was searching and found this. Someone else may find this as well. I received the same error but my problem was that I had the wrong list chosen in my Main Submit data Connection. Once I got the correct list in the submit data connection it worked just fine.
