Form working differently in preview and the browser

    Hi,

I have created a stationary order form in Infopath 2010 and I am publishing this to SharePoint 2010.

The form is obtaining information from a sharepoint list which contains a Product Name and an Item Code.

I have a drop down list which contains all the product names from the sharepoint list and when one is selected this should automatically populate the Item Code text field with the matching item code from the sharepoint list.

This works perfectly fine when I preview the form within InfoPath however, as soon as i publish the form onto sharepoint, when a product name is selected the item code text box just remains blank.

I have put the following rule on the drop down list

    1.  Set Item Code to

    2. Item Code (secondary) where ID = current (i.e the product name drop down list)

Could someone please assist in how i could resolve this issue please.

    Thank you

You could drag the entire secondary data source to the canvas, and then take a look in the browser. Basically, you want to see whether the data connection is returning data correctly in the browser. If it is, then seeing that data will allow you to visually confirm whether the filtering values are correct.

You can add attachments or even the XSN itself via the Options tab when replying.
