is there a way to automatically hide a text box after a short period of time?

Its quite annoying that you cant display message boxes in infopath, and one stage of my form involves a department to update some details - i dont want the form to close or change view or anything i just want them to type into the textbox and click the update button which submits the form but does nothing else

the best and only way i can really think of to do this is to display a text box when the data is submitted that says 'successfully subimtted' and then have this automatically disapear after a few seconds. is this possible to do at all? the form needs to be printed out after this so i cant have the successfully updated label stay there.

    Thanks

I assume you're talking about browser forms, which cannot display dialog boxes.

We typically see something similar to what you've described: create a schema node called "Message". Display that as a Calculated Value in the form. Then, via rules, you can change the value of Message. You can also control whether the Message is displayed or not via Conditional Formatting.

    Hope this helps!
