Is it possible to update the year on a form in the title of the form automatically?

in my form i have the accademic year at the top and this needs to update each year (eg from 2012/2013 to 2013/2014 or maybe 2013 to 2014 to 2015) is this possible to do in anyway? i dont want to have to keep going to the form template each year and updating it - not only this but then i think it will also update the years/dates in the forms that are already submitted.

    thanks

    Hi Luke,

You can update the form's title automatically using qRules. Check out Qdabra.com and look at qRules under Tools and Templates.

I'm wondering if you mean the title bar of InfoPath itself (the caption)? Or some displayed info in your form? Can you attach a screenshot under the Options tab in a reply?

You should be able to use a calculated value for this - what is the logic that determines the date range?

at the moment its just a label that does nothing, a label with the default value set to 2012/ 2013

Yes, I understand that - what I'm asking is what should the logic be? When should the label say 2012/2013? At what point should it change to 2013/2014? Does that make sense?

Oh sorry, the date should change on the 31st of August every year. so for example, from now it should say 2012/ 2013, next year on the 31st august it should change to 2013/ 2014 and so on

Here's a simple sample form that uses a rule on form load to set a field to the label values based on the date the template is opened - change your system date to check the returned value before or after 8-31. This should at least give you a few ideas. You'll want to save the form linked in the heading of this post locally. Then right click it and select Design. From there, you can preview, look at the form load rules, etc.
