Looking for way to create pop-up Lookup from Button Control within a IP Form

I have an InfoPath form that is used to create SharePoint data. The Notes application i am replacing allows the user to click on a lookup button beside the Customer # field. On click a pop up is launched showing contents of Customer List with search capabilities and the top of it.  Also utilizes type ahead and auto complete. I also belive sorting is possible by clicking on column headers.

Is this do-able without a ton of custom code?

    Hi Corrie,

InfoPath let's you create a custom section and that section can query a SharePoint list containing the customers. If your customers are in a different location, you can use a Web service. No custom code required, but you won't get type ahead. SharePoint 2010 will support sorting. You can connect to a REST Web service and specify sorting options when you do. Check out Qdabra's YouTube channel for REST techniques. No code required.

So, to summarize, if your customers are stored in SharePoint or behind some Web service, it's easy.

    Best of luck,

Hello Patrick! Thank you for the response. I am still a bit confused tho. My Customer List is in SharePoint. I have done a lot of work with sections but never a custom one. I have found an External Item Picker but my list is not external. If you could give me a tad bit more info to start me off in the right direction I would appreciate it.

My next hurdle after I figure out how to get the button to work is to have navigation on the page (for a certain user group only) that will allow then to change the status of selected items, print form (I have a seperate view for that) and create a new form.  I have been reading all day trying to solve at least one of these problems with no luck.
